Scheduled Server Downtime

Scheduled Server Downtime

Servers will be undergoing maintenance on the 12th April 2019. All services will be down except for the status page (use that to see the status of the servers). During this time, you will not be able to download applications, update applications, access help documentation in my applications or access main websites. The downtime duration will be anywhere from 1 hour – 6 hours depending on if I can get everything done. If worst comes to worst, expect roughly a day to get everything back up.

Thank you for your understanding.

EU Article 11 & 13 Passed?! (Welcome to Orwell’s 1984!)

EU Article 11 & 13 Passed?! (Welcome to Orwell’s 1984!)

I’m going to start by saying that it’s a dark time for the Internet in the EU. The tl;dr of this post is that the Internet is dead and content creators are fucked.

So, today (as I’m writing this on the 26th March) the European Parliament passed article 11 and 13, these stop people from using copyrights fairly and introduce a link tax which means you cannot create anything which uses a copyrighted asset or link to anything that is external. All content creators on every platform are fucked if they live in the EU since they will not be able to use anything that has a copyrighted logo, trademark or anything to do with a company. Welcome to Orwell’s 1984, enjoy your stay.

WordPress Protection

WordPress Protection

I know it’s been a long time coming, but we finally have SSL encryption on this news blog since a new plugin allowed it! I’m happy to note that this is no longer plagued with people stealing my IP address and either flooding the upload bandwidth or flooding my entire Internet connection (DoS attacks). What I’ve essentially done is made a condom for my news blog and it’s just another way we’re moving forward to protect your data and your connections to this site as well as our other ones. Since I have a dynamic IP address, that’s been easily changed and it is now hidden.

iPhone XS 256 GB in Gold

iPhone XS 256 GB in Gold

So, since the recent stealing of my iPhone SE (let’s not go into detail about that), I saved up enough money to get myself a new iPhone XS in gold with 256 GB capacity. Yes, it’s a ton of storage, yes I can probably fit all of my music on it, yes I know it’s a huge upgrade from the SE and yes I know it’s a £1149 phone, but it’s very good quality and I think the price is justified. “Why do you think the price is justified?”, look at the technology that has gone into it, the amount of sensors and cameras on the top and the ten total sapphire lenses on the back cameras, I’m surprised this phone doesn’t cost more honestly. What I’m not that impressed about is the OLED display, it doesn’t look as good as LCD and it seems like there’s a small checkerboard effect on the screen. I really don’t see why people are that fussed about OLED. The cameras are much better than the iPhone SE obviously, and the Face ID is more secure than Touch ID in most respects. The gestures are fluent and I had no trouble learning them, they feel natural and a joy to use. The build quality is on point for an Apple product and the X/XS with their glass backs feel like a callback to the Steve Jobs era of Apple. Overall, I’m very happy with my iPhone XS, even if the price for some people is a bit steep. All I have to say for that is, get a job and git gud, maybe you’ll be able to afford things then.

Thank you for reading this post, see you in the next one.

Fighting is Magic: Aurora 0.5.0.1

Fighting is Magic: Aurora 0.5.0.1

This is an improvement over the last public beta release 0.5.0.0. The changes in these updates are as follows;

Launcher:
1. Nothing changed this version.

Game:
1. Reverted Rainbow Dash back to 0.4.1.0 because of an unfixable bug.
2. Fixed a bug where Fluttershy’s win sounds would sometimes loop.
3. Adjusted Applejack’s hitbox on Applequake M and H.
4. Reverted Rarity back to Aurora 0.1.0.0 because of an unfixable bug.

Notes: Fighting is Magic: Aurora will be getting smaller updates from now on since I keep
stressing myself with big tasks that will take more time than needed. I will now work souly
on the story mode for the game while making small bug fixes along the way. If you notice
something more broken in this version than previous, then that’s normal.
